Pros
Great employee relationships... everyone cares about everyone else.
Cons
The Corporate management has absolutely no idea how store level works, and will never understand how to improve it because of this. Low pay for the employees that matter and the company is constantly shifting ways to decrease the pay to improve their bottom line. Resulting in poor work ethic. Impossible goals that only make managers and workers consider ways of doing things unethically. Terrible use of marketing and advertising... wasteful focus on a rewards program that NEVER brings in new customers... Again, with unattainable goals that are pressured to the employees to sign up customers. Poor advertising... Never see a memorable Sears commercial to bring in NEW customers. Dirty stores that are never updated, with a constant use of old fixtures that fall apart and look messy. Moving up in stores is more political than a measure of your actual work ethic and leadership. Terrible work/life balance. Working all ends of the day, different times of the week. There is so much more... I could go on for days.
