Pros

Seasoned is a start-up that I truly believe will be a success story. I have worked for several start-ups in the past and it has all the make-up to succeed. Product market fit is there. There is an actual need for the product, it is solving a real problem. There is not another company out there touching the service industry staffing exclusively as Seasoned is. Products are mobile first which means they are actually building for the today and the future as opposed to using old and outdated technology. The grow loops are there, which is incredibly important for marketplace-esque products. Flexible schedule, nobody is monitoring you to do your job. It is up to you and you're encouraged to be creative and thoughtful. Every company has problems, there is not a single company out there that doesn't have problems. The difference is who you work on those problems with and how reasonable the people are. It's much more fun to build with people and solve problems with reasonable people than unreasonable people. Leadership, especially CEO is not naive. The CEO is actually someone who admits what they don't know, hires people to help scale and then utilizes them to actually do their job as opposed to a lot of "wunder kid" like founders whose ego gets in the way trying to appear as the smartest person in the room. Leadership is not like that here, it's refreshing.

Cons

It's not a con for me but it could be for some people who don't understand the pace of working for a start-up. You will need to pivot and you will need to be adjustable and adaptable. Don't sweat the small stuff, the bigger stuff is more important. Trust that if there are changes it's due to reevaluating and thinking through prior decisions, that is a good thing. Jr. people here can tend to think in black and white that if a good decision is made but it resulted in a bad result that they should change their path based on the result. Stay the course and try again, don't get frustrated.

Pros

Exciting problems in a space that needs thoughtful solutions. Intelligent and friendly co-workers.

Cons

After some time with a lack of focus in leadership, with many changes at the executive level, some new blood was naturally brought on to try to correct the course of this fairly unique startup. These new guys laid off the entire Austin office (formerly the company HQ) the third week of the pandemic "out of fears over profitability". They then immediately began filling many those positions with remote workers at higher salaries without ever reaching out to people who had been with the company for years. While this seems like par for the course, it was still sketchy to use the pandemic as cover for such a shrewd move, especially while throwing many people out in the cold at a very scary time.
