Pros
- Excluding the founders, most of the team was fun and great to work with. - They spend a lot of money taking you on trips (but you'll never hear about how much runway is left - You get to go on "free trips" (to run booths at conferences)-just make sure you're "grateful" for this free trip (which is certainly not work!)
Cons
- There is a significant lack of founder-market fit. Leadership does not have a deep understanding of the customer or the problem they are solving. Their own founder story highlights that they cycled through multiple failed ideas before latching onto a rapidly growing market. Decision-making appears to be driven more by financial opportunity than by genuine expertise or passion for the space. - Prospective employees should review Glassdoor interview experiences to get a sense of the company culture and leadership style. - The company claims to foster an “anonymous” culture survey, but employees have faced consequences for sharing honest feedback. - Leadership demonstrates a pattern of erratic decision-making, inconsistent communication, and questionable treatment of employees. There is a clear disparity in how men and women are treated, particularly within the engineering team, where women are severely underrepresented. Reports from hiring processes suggest concerning biases in candidate evaluations. - The CEO’s leadership style is unpredictable, often shifting between excessive praise and harsh criticism. The work environment is characterized by reactionary decisions, a lack of stability, and a reluctance to accept feedback. Employees frequently experience retaliatory behavior for voicing concerns, and key decisions are made based on emotion rather than strategy. - The other founder appears unable or unwilling to push back against this leadership style, leading to a culture where dissent is not tolerated and independent decision-making is stifled.
