Pros
US processes are a blank state; chance to learn self-reliance quickly. Prague runs the show. Significant interaction with the European headquarters, as most key technical expertise and decision-making authority resides in Prague.
Cons
US operation feels disconnected & poorly managed. Revolving door of employees is disruptive. There's a culture of micromanagement which makes it difficult to operate effectively. Strategic direction changes happen more often than what I feel is normal, creating constant flux about goals and priorities. To be blunt, it feels like you're part of a business experiment rather than a serious, lasting startup venture. Decision making seems heavily reliant on Prague, limiting local autonomy and slowing down progress. Basic operational support can feel inadequate. During the interview, the advice is to thoroughly investigate the parent company's genuine dedication to the US market and the actual scope of authority granted to the local team. Don't get sold a dream and end up in a nightmare.
