Great company...horrible middle management - IS Infrastructure Securian Financial Employee Review

In general, if you are good at your job now you'll likely be a superstar at Securian. Unfortunately Securian's 'promote from within' leads to a trend where very unqualified people hold skilled and managerial jobs. In I.S., if an employee isn't good that their skilled technical job then for some reason I.S. senior management seems to think they'll do better in managing the people who actually do their old job well. While there are a handful of great senior/middle managers, most are just patsies
