Cons
To echo previous reviews, this company is an acquired taste that is incredible for innovators and those who genuinely want to sink deeply into their work. For those of you who want work life balance, anything to be organized or planned in any way, or are lukewarm on AI and innovation, this is simply not the company for you. Leadership is quite literally shoving AI down every role's throats to the point that is detrimental to getting anything done. Expect a new tool to be required every week or month, but do not expect training time set aside, or documentation to even remotely keep up. The crazy part is that the C-Suite and Wil himself will tell you this is for your own good so that you can grow and have marketable skills. I would argue that there is a balance to adoption, and Seer is all gas no brakes with zero guardrails on process creation, ensuring that chaos and constant confusion exists for those trying to complete deliverables. I genuinely like Wil, and leadership, as people, but they are so disconnected from day-to-day reality it's becoming palpable in calls and daily work. Everything is so innovative and collaborator that no one knows who owns anything, again, creating nonstop chaos. This is particularly fun for performance reviews, when feedback rolls around, and you will realize your KPIs (which also constantly change -- speaking from someone who has seen new KPIs for every review cycle I've been here) have no actual grounded reality for your job. I've also had people review me that basically did not interact with me, which is irritating to say the least, and have often literally felt invisible since I joined this company. I want to like Seer, but I just can't. This place was exciting for me for about 3-6 months, and then went downhill quickly. I am tired. People are tired.
