Pros

Seer has a wonderful product and service offering. The talent and kindness demonstrated by others is outstanding

Cons

CEO has just let go of 50% of the design team under the banner of- 'design isn't going to help us succeed in the near future'. This act was short sided and implosive but also detrimental to culture as it was not preempted. As much as the redundancy package was respectful, the language used by the CEO indicated lack of true empathy towards the layoffs. "This sucks...we needed to shift resources from location a to b" From what I hear, the CEO doesn't trust his employees. Not even his own direct reports/ executive leadership team and believes he has all of the answers.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate feedback from both our current and former employees. Seer values design highly, but unfortunately, it is not a competitive differentiator for the company at this time. The hard truth is that resources in the immediate term need to be directed into other functions and geographies. We are pleased that you found the package offered to you was fair, but are sorry that your experience of how these changes were communicated was lacking. The decision to restructure was not made lightly, and in the process, we had to say goodbye to some extremely talented people. Our people are our most valuable assets and we take our company values of transparency and trusting in our people incredibly seriously. We wish you all the best in your future career endeavours.

Pros

The team leads go above and beyond to create a strong sense of work-life balance, including flexibility with days/hours and approving WFH as needed. Such a wonderful group of people. They hire first and foremost for the culture fit, which sometimes means the job is open for a long time but it's so worth it once they hire the right person.

Cons

Unfortunately, with Seer being a startup and relying on external funding, there's been some instability the job.
