Pros
I have worked at Seiler Tucker eight months now. I have had the opportunity to gain excellent work experience. I am interested in Investment Banking and the work I am doing is interesting and preparing me for advanced career opportunities within the industry. Working at Seiler Tucker has exposed me to all aspects of M&A as well as a wide variety of business. During my time so far at Seiler Tucker, I have worked on deals in various industries including pharmaceuticals, technology startups, manufacturing, as well as education, just to list a few. I have been involved in all aspects of the deals. One thing that stands out as an advantage of working at a mid size firm is the hands-on experience I have been able to gain. I report directly to Michelle Seiler Tucker, and have been taken on as mentee. She always makes time to expose me to her busy work schedule, letting me sit in on meeting when first started. Now I am meeting with clients directly, with the support of Michelle and her team. During my eight months, I have met a variety of colleagues. Some graduate students, some senior analysts, a marketing department, as well as those who connect with clients. Seiler Tucker has not only exposed me to all aspects of M&A but a great group of people to work with as well.
Cons
As with any M&A firm, they are looking to see you work you hardest and put the hours in therefore the schedule can involve early morning and late nights. Despite this, there is still a flexible schedule come any confits. Additionally, parking can be a challenge as with anywhere in downtown NOLA.
