Pros
Working at Seneca ESG has been a unique and rewarding experience, especially coming from an ESG consulting background. The startup environment provided me with exposure to multiple functions, allowing me to take on diverse responsibilities. As the first staff member in Singapore, I led business development and partnerships in the South APAC, managed client accounts, spearheaded research efforts, and took on product development responsibilities. Despite having no prior experience in product management, I was given the opportunity to step into the role after expressing interest. I’m grateful to my CEO and CTO for their openness to feedback and ideas, as well as their willingness to support my growth. The development team and colleagues have also been incredibly patient and collaborative, making it a great learning environment. This experience has helped me grow significantly in stakeholder management, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration across different regions and languages. Unlike a corporate environment, Seneca ESG offers the chance to develop a wide range of skills and take initiative in shaping your role. If you’re someone who thrives in dynamic settings and enjoys tackling challenges, this is a great place to work.
Cons
As with any startup, working at Seneca ESG requires wearing multiple hats and being a self-starter. The pace is fast, and the environment can sometimes be ambiguous, requiring adaptability and a proactive mindset. If you prefer strictly defined tasks and working only within clear instructions, this might not be the right fit. However, if you embrace challenges and enjoy a dynamic work culture, you’ll find it a valuable experience.
