Pros

Good people to work with at the peer level

Cons

One of the most negative work experiences I've ever had. Sequoia is yet another company that simply does not follow it's values. Middle management is completely oblivious and disconnected. They don't have a way to accurately track performance or workloads and are totally clueless as to what true leadership is and how it can increase engagement and productivity. Suckups, kool-aid drinkers, and brown nosers are rewarded despite being horrible at their actual jobs. Meanwhile, true performers are discarded like trash and let go because management is too stupid to realize they were the ones actually fixing the issues. Completely unethical and probably illegal work environment. Any response this company shares to this review and be stuck you know where bevause it certainly won't come from a genuine desire to fix anything. There's a reason why 30% of employees don't even feel they're treated as human beings. Shame on this company!!

Pros

There are some truly amazing folks that work at Sequoia. They work really hard and many truly care about the work they are doing. Even when things get out of hand, the teams band together to help each other through whatever new debacle comes their way. And there is always a new debacle. Pay is higher than most…

Cons

Layoffs at random with no warning and little to no communication to those directly affected by it. If you’re a manager or above, you’ve received middle of the night unhinged emails that make for an anxiety inducing day/week/month ahead. In 6 years I had 8 managers for 3 roles (2 were within the same team)…If a manager tries to reign in crazy expectations or pivots so they don’t derail an entire team, they tend to disappear. Pay is higher than most but not enough for what is expected emotionally and physically.
