Pros

I truly enjoy working for Serendipity Labs. Since joining the team, I’ve gained valuable experience across a variety of areas including hospitality, sales, event planning, operations, and even IT. One of the most rewarding aspects is the strong sense of community we build with our members—it’s fulfilling to be part of something that makes people feel welcome and supported. There’s a great deal of creative freedom across roles, and local team feedback is genuinely valued. Management is flexible and open to ideas, which creates a collaborative and empowering environment. It’s clear that leadership cares about their employees and wants to see them grow within the company. Many of the senior leaders have been with Serendipity Labs for years, and their experience and guidance are felt at every level. John, our CEO, sets a great example—he’s approachable, grounded, and makes an effort to know employees by name.

Cons

I had a challenging experience with a previous manager whose lack of presence and tendency to delegate their own responsibilities created a difficult work environment for the rest of the team. This dynamic contributed to stress and inefficiency, which impacted overall morale. Fortunately, our current management team has been much more supportive and engaged, and things have significantly improved. As with any workplace, having the right leadership in place makes all the difference in fostering a positive and productive environment.

Pros

The only real perk was the opportunity to interact with some genuinely decent people who rented office space from the company. Occasionally being able to take home leftover catering from events was a small bonus.

Cons

This role was mentally, physically and emotionally draining. The workload was overwhelming, expectations were unrealistic, and compensation did not reflect the responsibilities. I was effectively doing the work of two people for over eight months for $22/hour. Leadership offered little to no support, HR was largely unresponsive, and the executive team consistently pushed employees to burnout. After two years in this environment, I’ve just completed my first week at a new company and genuinely cannot believe I tolerated that level of stress and dysfunction for as long as I did. If you value your mental health, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
