Pros

I really liked my coworkers who were always helpful and supportive of each other. I felt like there was a real sense of community in the office and across the sales network. Senior management were good to work with and approachable. Whenever possble, they took time to interact with more junior staff. Company values of Integrity, Tenacity, Innovation and Unity were really instilled in the work place and everyone worked hard to embody those values. We were evaluated monthly based on the company values as part of our KPIs and if we performed well, we received voucher rewards (up to $100 a month). Training within the company is excellent and I felt supported while working there. The company carries a lot of brand power and has given me excellent experience in media. When I left the company, people were impressed with my experience and I'm pretty sure having Seven Network on my CV was a critical factor to securing interviews. I felt a great amount of pride in where I worked.

Cons

Compensation was poor. In fact, the more I talked with my coworkers, the more I realised how poor it was. Raises are rare in the company and I had to work incredibly hard to get one (which was still very minimal). Lots of people felt that they weren't paid well for their hours (sales assistants and executives would often start at 8am and leave after 7pm and non-sales staff work 8:30-5:30). Bonuses (based on market share or target share) weren't very good or frequent either. There was little opportunity for employees to move up within the sales structure. In my years with the sales team, only a couple sales assistants were promoted to executive; only one sales exec was promoted to group sales manager. Most people, if they wanted to advance their careers, had to leave the company. Additional headcount is scarce.

Pros

Majority of people there are lovely. There's room for progression from assistant to exec level, but after that you're basically stuck til somebody above dies or retires. You get your birthday off (woohoo)

Cons

Demanding clients, under-staffed, long hours (8:30 - 6pm), slow system. Management have been very slow to adapt to the changing nature of how people consume media, and the flow on effect is unrealistic budgets.
