Pros

The only good experience I had from Shady Grove, was the three friends I gained.

Cons

There were a lot of cons working at Shady Grove. There is always a shortage of staff, due to the high turnovers at the company. You get over-worked and not appreciated for what you do. The Management staff is terrible. There is no stability or structure within the company. Management literally told the MA staff that they don't care if they are over-worked. I don't miss the company at all, but hope they improve for the patience and staff.

Pros

Some coworkers were supportive and hardworking. The role provided experience in medical records and healthcare administration

Cons

My experience in the Medical Records Department was unfortunately very negative. Management felt extremely controlling, micromanaging, and manipulative. The environment often felt toxic, and instead of promoting teamwork, there was hostility created between coworkers. I attempted to communicate professionally and advocate for myself, but my concerns were often perceived as personal attacks instead of constructive feedback. Accountability was expected from employees, yet leadership struggled to hold themselves accountable as well. Over time, my work began being heavily nitpicked, and I was eventually placed on a PIP. Despite putting in effort to improve and meet expectations, it felt as though the outcome had already been decided. HR became involved, but I did not feel supported during the process and often felt isolated throughout my experience. What made this especially difficult is that throughout my previous employment history, I have consistently met or exceeded expectations, been recognized for strong performance, professionalism, and teamwork. This was the first workplace where I experienced this type of treatment.
