Pros

Overall a good starting job. Good for getting experience in retail. Flexible with scheduling for the most part. Good part and full time opportunities throughout the store. Plenty of opportunity for growth if desired.

Cons

Management is a mess and the company itself is struggling due to competition. Prices aren't the greatest and the store suffers from that. Customers have a very negative attitude towards the store and management doesn't know how to maintain work morale. Low work morale create employees who don't care about the company and would prefer to "call out" rather than come to work. Considering the fact that the store is constantly understaffed doesn't help. It puts extra stress on the hard working employees. The higher ups have no idea how to manage the checkout. Their experience in customer service and management is questionable. Shaw's is no longer the amazing grocery store it used to be.
