Pros

There used to be a lot of pros but now you're just worked to death. It's all about the bottom line and not about the employees like it used to be. If you're a white male you're not cared for very well

Cons

Long hours. Lots of paperwork, You have to pay for your own trips home, In some places you work the per diem is next to nothing. Lots of companies offer the same or much better benefits. This used to be a great place to work but that ship has sailed.

Pros

Working at Shawmut was a valuable experience that provided exposure to complex, high-profile construction projects and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The company employs talented professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional work, and there are many opportunities to learn from experienced leaders across different disciplines. The culture is fast-paced and performance-driven, which can be rewarding for those who thrive in challenging environments. Employees are often given significant responsibility and opportunities to contribute to major projects. The company’s emphasis on safety, innovation, and client satisfaction is evident throughout its operations. Overall, Shawmut is a strong organization for construction professionals looking to gain experience on complex projects, develop their careers, and work alongside knowledgeable industry leaders. The experience can be highly rewarding for individuals who enjoy a dynamic and demanding construction environment.

Cons

One area for improvement is work-life balance. Project demands and deadlines can sometimes result in long hours and increased workloads, particularly during critical phases of construction. Communication and consistency between regions, departments, and project teams can also vary, which may lead to differing employee experiences depending on the project or office.
