Pros

Shell remains at the forefront if you want to take company sponsored courses, using technical experts and consultants who know their stuff. It's a large company that does many things and if you can there are many areas to experience O&G

Cons

As the company sells assets to pay for the BG integration, morale across the office has been hit hard. Politics and games are now standard - if you are not a senior management pet or best friend, you are not going anywhere. Experienced colleagues have left the building and decisions are sometimes made by people who have less than 5 years experience; which is quite scary in this game. Outlook is very poor as company aims to hit top quartile production and costs

Pros

Early career engineers are given significant ownership and exposure to complex operational challenges. Strong focus on safety, technical development, and collaboration across disciplines. Opportunities to work on high-impact projects, interact with senior leadership, and contribute to decisions affecting major assets and infrastructure.

Cons

Workloads can be demanding, and priorities can shift quickly based on operational needs. Decision-making processes can be slow due to organizational complexity, and geographic mobility may be necessary for certain career opportunities.
