Pros
Work-life balance
Flexible scheduling
There are dedicated, talented people who work here and genuinely care about serving clients and supporting one another. Unfortunately, those employees are often undervalued, disrespected, and carrying an unsustainable workload without the staffing, resources, or organizational support necessary for long-term success .
Cons
The firm’s biggest challenge is chronic understaffing. This is not due to an inability to find qualified candidates, but rather a reluctance to hire sufficient staff. As a result, many employees are expected to perform the work of three to five people on a daily basis to meet client expectations and deadlines. At the same time, accountability is inconsistent. While some employees work extremely hard and carry significant workloads, others are allowed to contribute the bare minimum without consequence, creating frustration and low morale.
There is a noticeable culture of favoritism, particularly among long-tenured management. Certain individuals appear to operate under a different set of expectations, while newer employees and those outside of established relationships often feel excluded from decision-making and advancement opportunities.
Leadership and communication are also significant concerns. Decisions affecting daily operations are frequently made without sufficient input from the managers and employees directly responsible for implementing them.
The firm’s communication structure can contribute to uncertainty and distrust. Important decisions and personnel matters are often discussed informally and secretively rather than through transparent channels, which can create confusion and undermine collaboration among management and staff.
Operationally, the firm relies on outdated software and technology. Investment in tools commonly used throughout the collections industry has been limited, making employees’ jobs more difficult and reducing overall efficiency. Many challenges that could be addressed through updated systems instead become the responsibility of already overextended staff.
Employee morale and workplace culture receive little investment. Raises and performance reviews are inconsistent, opportunities for team building are minimal, and there are few efforts to recognize employee contributions or foster a positive work environment. Basic amenities and workplace considerations also seem to receive little attention.
