Pros

Decent salary plus bonuses and good products. They pay for you to move to your new store after a short period of training.

Cons

Absolutely no pay for overtime. Getting approval for overtime is not possible because it requires district level approval and by the time you know you are going to need to work OT, it is closing time and too late to contact him. Also, you will work almost EVERY Saturday. You work late every day you do work. You will barely have a life. Your job will be your life. Your hard work and dedication will not be appreciated. Your manager will not have your back. He will back stab you. Your sales representative will also stab you in the back. Management is not held accountable for their actions. They can abuse you and get away with it. Management makes mistakes and they are not written up. Only your mistakes are written up. Employees are not valued as people. You are their money maker. You are nothing more. You are not a human being. You are not to have a personal life especially a family life. You are to over charge every customer. All they care about is money and their stock value. Consistency is not in their vocabulary. They will let one employee get away with murder but write others up. Fairness is not in their vocabulary either. Their training method is to expect you to be able to sprint without first learning to crawl. Then it is your competency that is to blame if you don't get the product knowledge and computer knowledge. Your manager will not be trained on how to lead or manage. He is only trained on how to make money. Money is their only concern. You are not their concern. Your district manager does not care about your growth or success. He only cares if you are making him money. He will not listen to any of your pleas for help. You will be ignored and labeled as a bad employee. My advice is not waste your time with Sherwin Williams. Invest your blood, sweat, and tears in a company that sees you as a human being and invests back into you and will take care of you even when your personal life gets really tough. Females get promoted faster and get treated better.

Pros

A positive work environment. The best co-workers I have had so far in my career worked with me at Sherwin. I also worked under an amazing management team. There is a lot of room for career growth. I worked for Sherwin for about 3.5 years. I started as a contracted lab technician, then I was hired full time as an R&D Associate Chemist. I quickly worked my way up to R&D Chemist within a year of being hired full time. The department I worked in was very fast paced, however, I know there are many other groups that move at a much slower pace with longer timelines. This would make it much easier to manage the workload.

Cons

Working with marketing was challenging at times. We would regularly receive big requests a day before they needed something. This would pose a challenge when you had other priorities to attend to. The pay was average. I do think it could have been slightly higher for all of the job responsibilities given to the chemists in my group specifically. The workload was overwhelming at times.
