Pros
You join a multiple times "seed" financed Idea (if you followed the press, the last investments would be kind of series B or C, but not another seed), but apparently there is no money issue and so nobody questions anything. In fact, the benevolent fundings seem to have insulated the CEO from having to manage at all. And as long as the are investors willing to believe there "is" a product, nothing will change. Unfortunately I believed it, too. But I also have to mention: there was an exceptionally high amount of nice and talented people, specially the hr team, who really cared about employees` feedback and constantly attempted a people centered culture.
Cons
When I joined last Year, I was told there was a functional product that works on AI and had been tested in a "beta phase" back in Germany, also named a huge success. Honestly, there is nothing working on AI... In my opinion, the complete AI team, that once existed, was used to sell and then fired. Curiosity: Is there still a single AI developer in the company? Or, was there ever a working customer order? Only thing I perceived was a holiday-CEO, that had been multiple times on vacations, while there was a ban on holidays for everyone else in the company. In fact, there existed many rules and bans, but hey, they did´t apply to the CEO of a "seed funded startup". And guess what, he also had a personal assistant traveling forth and back with him at all times, minding his agenda and reassuring the CEO gets his food on time.
