Great place as a first job.

Pay should be higher than current scale

Patrons are mostly very sweet and grateful, coworkers were cool, work was easy

If you work at a big branch they will leave you for dead if you’re busy. They also don’t value the work that part-timers do as much as full-timers even though you’re doing the same work. Support services acts like they’re in a cult and can’t talk about anything because there’s all these crazy rules so whenever you have the smallest problem they would rather act passive aggressive towards you and get rid of you. The manager at broadmoor branch is an actual robot she ran off so many people from working there. There’s a reason the turnover rate for such a simple job is so high. They literally had to change the job qualification requirements because anyone qualified to be a librarian knows that it’s way too much work for the amount that they’re paid.
