High employee turnover rate The owner does not know what's going on day to day, but will come in with a controlling attitude and try to make decisions without considering how they affect the employees. The job started out wonderfully but has changed dramatically with the real estate market crash and certain new management being introduced. Penalizes employees for not agreeing to do jobs outside of their apartment, even when the departments they demand you help never step out to help yours. You will fight hard for every raise you earn, and in turn, will have the expectations of you unreasonably increased to justify what raises you do receive. They incentivize learning certain new skills by promising a raise along with it, then when you become certified or learn said skill will start nitpicking everything you are doing to justify not giving you one, even if your performance is better than it was when you started. The bar is constantly moving so that what you are told is good performance when you started becomes bad performance during a much slower season. This is, again, done to justify avoiding raises or keep employees "in their place." The company does not comply with timely annual reviews. Many have not received a review or raise in 2-3 years unless they are friends with management. Employees who submit an LNI claim do not last long. They are either manipulated into quitting or end up getting let go shortly thereafter--the owner is often responsible for this. Managers pick favorite employees and will lie to cover for them--the people earning the highest pay in each department are either sleeping with their manager, friends with their manager, related directly to their manager, or have been there for so many years that they have immunity. Breaks are unevenly enforced. Some employees will be required to text the start and end time of all breaks while others will not. They say going to the bathroom won't get you penalized, but will accuse you of slacking off for going to the bathroom or replacing a bandaid at the first aid kit. Extremely sexist work environment in which men can get away with being injured but women are treated as fragile the second they have a stiff neck. Excuses are made for men acting aggressive or taking extra breaks, but women can't even change a tampon without being accused of slacking off. Management will throw you under a bus to save their own hide if you complain about them to HR. HR is a trap and is run by the owner's wife.

Pros

The people that work at this company are some of the best and finest people you will ever meet. The culture is generally laid back.

Cons

Management can be a little confusing and the tasks aren't fully hammered out into a system. Too focused on the wrong aspects of what a business should be.
