Pros
I work a 3-2-3 week shift. 12 hrs per day. 6a.m.-6p.m. Working these hours gives me several days off. This benefits my time with my family. The work I do is not to bad. Fairly clean work environment
Cons
I take pride in my work and am told frequently how beneficial I am to the company. While others do the minimum possible. None of that matters when "reviews" are given. You are praised for your hard work, then told you will not receive a raise because you are "at the top of your pay scale." We are given reviews every 8 months and I have not received a raise my past 3 reviews. I went to upper management to discuss my concerns and ask why we are not at least given a "cost of living" raise. How long does being "at the top of the pay scale" apply before I receive a raise. I addressed my concern that with the prices of everything going up and my pay remaining the same for over 2 years, I am actually loosing out. I was told by that senior administrator, "you need to live within your means." How does he know how I live and what right did he have to judge me and disrespect me that way. I was not disrespectful enough to him to ask, but I do wonder if upper management is at the "top of their pay scale," or if they are given raises on a regular basis. Not once have I myself, or anyone I know resolved anything through management. Our concerns are usually addresses with excuses. I have recently started exploring other job options. Not because I do not like my job, but because I am a loyal and dedicated employee. I feel it's time to move on to somewhere that management does not take advantage of their employees, instead of a valuing them for the work they do.
