Upper management favors hiring people from the outside instead of training and growing their employees from within the firm. There should be more technical training and the firm does not appear to have the appropriate tools and personnel to host these trainings internally. If this remains to be the case employees should be sent externally for training or educators should be brought to the firm to teach these. (For evidence of this, see the preceding point). Time is not built into schedules for appropriate CPE and trainings. Employees continually miss training that they actually want to attend because of other work that needs to be done. Employees are denied external training that is job-specific if it conflicts with client engagements even when requested weeks/months in advance. Upper management makes promises without follow-through. If you are a good, hardworking employee you will be overworked while you watch your peers work under-chargeable hours with no consequences. Health insurance and 401K match could be better.
