Pros

Remote working environment. Flexible schedule. Unlimited FTO and other good benefits. Good compensation. Continuing education is very encouraged. You get to work with (mostly) very nice, very smart people. I feel comfortable, for the most part, voicing concerns to my direct manager (but certainly not his manager).

Cons

There has been lots of turnover, on our team especially. People who were hired in early 2022 were let go in December. A slide of our billable hours goals and billable hours actualized was shown at an all-team meeting, including those of already-terminated individuals, which came off as callous and distasteful. Those who weren't let go due to failure to meet these goals were let go instead because 'they weren't performing at the level at which they were hired.'

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed unlimited PTO – which we call Flexible Time Off (FTO) – and our other benefits. Additionally, we are very pleased that you enjoy working with kind, smart coworkers. Our company is filled with terrific people! You mentioned that your team experienced some turnover. While our organization has experienced overall consistent growth (with two record-breaking years behind us), some degree of turnover is inevitable. While this obviously happens for a variety of reasons, the turnover rate at Sikich is considerably lower than the industry average. We feel this is due to the excellent people, benefits, work, culture (and clients) that you mentioned in your comments. Equally, we are focused on ensuring we have the right teams in place to serve our clients, and sometimes shifts in staffing are necessary. We work very hard to enhance all aspects of the employee experience, from the initial recruiting process through offboarding. However, we continue to examine our practices and solicit feedback from individuals like yourself so that we are doing everything possible to maintain a thriving workplace where employees can focus on the work at hand with as little disruption as possible. Thank you again for your feedback. Please feel free to contact us directly if you would like to provide any additional thoughts or suggestions.

Pros

- remote work culture that began before covid and has continued - manageable billable hour goals and doesn’t penalize employees for time on the bench between projects - did not do layoffs during government shutdown like some other firms did

Cons

- no formal training plan for new hires or current employees - no automatic COLA adjustments (raises are on merit only) - not a ton of diversity but is improving - multiple recent reorganizations as firm grows (impacts management, little to no impact for staff)

Thank you for sharing your experience, and for the positive observations about our company! We agree it's a great place to work. We encourage you to reach out to your manager to learn more about the training and development opportunities available to all employees, including new hires, through Sikich University. Those courses, along with more information, are also accessible via our intranet site under the LCVista app. Thanks, again!

Pros

Decent place to get Federal audit experience. Good health insurance benefits

Cons

Salary and raises (2% raise for meeting expectations, 3% raises for exceeding expectations). Absolutely awful and doesn't even keep pace with inflation, meaning even after the raises you're financially worse off than the year prior. Principals/Management seems to be disjointed with feedback full of corporate jargon rather than substantive examples and helpful guidance. Pressures to become a Top 10/15 ($1B+ revenue) company seems to have neglected organic growth. Private Equity investment has began to transform pressures from the top down. CEO using the word "family" in regards to the company, when the treatment is anything but how you would treat family.
