"Great company to work for" - This is literally a CON!! Having worked for SL for over 4 years myself, I have never known anyone to come through my department that has worked in Accounts production, Audit, VAT (Is there even a VAT department?!) and tax, as well as do there ACCA's and have kids. Very impressive none the less. Fresh fruit is not given daily it is twice a week! If seeing clients on a daily basis sitting on the couch in reception is 'meet a large percentage of SL's clients' then I guess that counts... In my time at SL attending year end meetings was very scarce and personally I never attended any. 1. Awful management (both partners and HR) - communication is extremely poor and at times aggressive. Favouritism is rife, one rule for one another rule for another. 2. Salary- Below market rate and poor pay rises. 3. Progression- non-existent for the majority. Appear to enjoy keeping their staff suppressed, more prominent in some departments (dependant on the partner you work for). 4. Old Fashioned- firm has a no phone policy and no opportunity to work from home unless you have kids. Which in this day and age is extremely backward and just goes to show the type of management that they have.
