Poor management and dated processes

I have now worked for Silver Levene for 4 years, and have done my ACCA qualifications here. During this time, I have worked in many of the departments, including Accounts production, Audit, VAT, and Tax, thus giving me a well rounded experience. I have always been encouranged to keep management aware of the areas i want to work in. We are given fresh fruit daily which is appreciated, and we have recently been given the option of flexible working hours, which is really important for me as I occasionally have to pick up my children from school. The managers and partners I generally work for are always available to give advice, and to a large extent a no-blame culture exists. I also get to meet a large percentage of SL's clients and sometimes attend year end meetings. Given that many are in the media / entertainment industry, this certainly helps stave off the boredom of Accountancy! Also based on Warren Street, it is very easy to get to as nearly all tube lines are just a minute walk away.

The main one is the work load, as the huge pressure to get accounts prepared and finalised is pretty much constant all year round. However, I have heard from friends who work for other firms that this is the reality for most medium sized firms. In fact, most of us here would be worried if there wasn't pressure to get jobs prepared.
