If You Like Broken Promises and Being Overworked, You’ll Love It Here - Project Manager SilverTech Employee Review

Pros

The coworkers (the ones not in management) are mostly great people—friendly, supportive, and trying to make the best of a bad situation. I also hear they finally moved into a space with more conference rooms, which is ironic since the old location had PMs practically brawling over who got a room after they forced everyone back into the office. Funny how remote work solved that problem—but they cared more about bodies in chairs than actual productivity.

Cons

Where to begin? Management will happily tell you you’re doing an amazing job right up until your review—when they suddenly "remember" all the mysterious things you apparently did wrong (none of which they ever mentioned before). They'll dangle a promotion in front of you like a carrot on a stick, promising timelines and dates that magically get pushed out or disappear. But don’t worry—if you threaten to quit, they’ll fast-track a promotion for you. Actually work hard and earn it the right way? Good luck with that. The culture here rewards overworking and staying quiet about it. Do a great job and meet impossible deadlines? Congratulations—you just won yourself more work with no raise to match. The yearly "increase" barely covers inflation, assuming you even get that much. Sales routinely sells projects that are impossible to deliver within scope or timeline—and guess who gets to clean up the mess? Not Sales. PMs are left scrambling to figure out how to deliver work that was sold without considering things like, you know, actual production hours. And then there was the brilliant PTO policy change at the end of 2021. Suddenly, you could no longer carry over PTO into the next year—and they stopped paying it out when you left the company. The unofficial rumor? Too many people had banked PTO from being overworked and unable to actually take time off. Apparently, if enough of them quit at once and cashed out their earned time, it could have bankrupted the company. So rather than fix the overwork problem, they just made sure you’d never see that time—or the money—for it. The CEO (Nick Soggu) seemed more interested in seeing people at their desks than keeping anyone safe. During COVID, employees were dragged back into the office and HR was told to stop alerting people about positive cases—because apparently health isn’t as important as looking busy. Oh, and if you need a conference room? Good luck. He’d take over the biggest one without warning, and the rest of us would scramble like fools to figure out where to hold client calls. Real inspiring leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at SilverTech left you feeling this way, and while we may not agree with all of the sentiments shared, we do appreciate your past contributions and the opportunity to reflect and improve. It’s important to acknowledge that SilverTech has evolved significantly in the years since your departure. Many of the concerns you raised were part of broader challenges we faced during and immediately after the pandemic—challenges we’ve worked hard to address. We returned to the office after COVID with the goal of rebuilding collaboration and culture—something that was, and continues to be, a core value for us. Throughout that time, we followed state and federal health guidelines to ensure the safety of our team. We also heard the feedback loud and clear regarding space constraints, including conference room availability. That’s why we made the move to a larger office—an intentional decision that took time to get right, but one we believe will support our continued growth and collaboration. On the performance and feedback front, we’ve transitioned from annual reviews to semi-annual reviews and monthly 1:1s with team leads. This shift helps foster continuous development conversations and gives team members more frequent opportunities to align on goals and growth. We’ve also enhanced our project scoping process. Over the past year, we’ve implemented a more collaborative sales process that includes the team members responsible for delivery—ensuring more accurate timelines, scopes, and expectations from the outset. As for career development, we’ve established clear job descriptions and promotion criteria so employees understand what’s expected of them and how they can grow. Regarding PTO, our policy has evolved and remains competitive with other agencies. Team members accrue PTO based on tenure, and once they reach a certain point, move into unlimited PTO. For those not yet at that level, we continue to allow carryover of unused time. We take feedback seriously and are always working to improve the employee experience. While your time at SilverTech may not have ended on a high note, we’re grateful for the role you played during your tenure and wish you continued success in your career.

Pros

- Great learning opportunities and supportive management. - Monthly one-on-one meetings with management provide the opportunity to align and speak on any individual priorities, challenges, goals, etc. which in my experience have always been seriously considered. - Hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH) - Weekly company-wide get togethers to share company updates and provide team building/collaboration opportunities.

Cons

No major issues or cons to note at the moment.

Pros

SilverTech is a great place to work if you're looking for a collaborative environment where your voice actually matters. Leadership encourages new ideas, and there’s real opportunity to grow your role if you’re proactive. The people here genuinely care about the work and about each other—it makes a big difference in how we show up for our clients. I’ve had the chance to work on exciting projects with well-known brands, and I always feel like my contributions are valued. Also, work-life balance is respected, which is rare in the agency world.

Cons

Like many agencies, things can get fast-paced and a little chaotic at times, but that also comes with the territory of working with a wide range of clients. Communication between departments is improving but still has room to grow.
