Pros

The paycheck arrives and a few coworkers outside the inner circle are genuinely decent people just trying to survive.

Cons

- Brutality sets in fast because leadership treats employees as adversaries rather than humans. - Managers constantly talk down and wield authority without cause. - Everything feels false, with grand promises and friendly faces that vanish when problems appear. - Blame is thrown recklessly and never lands where it belongs. - Support is almost nonexistent, expectations are extreme, and you are forced to figure everything out alone. - Stay long enough and the entire system begins to feel cruel and unforgiving.

Pros

Small team, so it's easy to get feedback and make changes. Accessible leadership and clear communication. Focus on getting things done, no unnecessary layers of approval. Remote flexibility, good compensation, equity, and a nice set of benefits.

Cons

Still no clarity on some internal structures

Pros

A few years ago, Skipify honestly felt pretty scattered. We were building a lot of things without always being clear on what would move the needle, and the org felt heavier than it needed to be. Since then, the company has reset in a really healthy way. There’s much clearer focus on building what customers actually want, execution is tighter, and the team feels more aligned around real priorities. From an engineering perspective, it’s been a big improvement. There’s a lot of ownership and autonomy, and people are trusted to do good work. The team is smart, collaborative, and low-ego. Communication and transparency from leadership are noticeably better than before, and you can see real growth in how decisions get made. It feels more mature and intentional now instead of reactive. Comp is competitive, work-life balance is genuinely good, and morale is strong. The product is in a solid spot and the company feels focused on executing well. Overall, it feels like Skipify learned from its early growing pains and came out sharper because of it.

Cons

Things move fast, and context can change quickly. Not as much structure as you’d find at a big tech company. You need to be comfortable operating with autonomy.
