Pros

The most friends you’ll ever make in a workplace. It’ll become a fun little trauma bonding experience with your peers that you’ll all look back and laugh about when you leave.

Cons

The management are a cliquey bunch. They will talk poorly of you in secretive group chats, have no compassion for necessary leave, will overwork you and I promise you, this will eat at you mentally. If you ever try to address their behaviour, they will gaslight you and tell you that they’re not a clique and will put you on a mental list that will tarnish you and ensure that you are treated with a bias. The customer base is the most unhinged. I’ve never had more aggressive customers that I’ve had to deal with in any other customer based role, in all the experience I’ve had. I’d be angry too, if the call wait times are akin to the social services queue. But hey, upper management were justified in laying off a bunch of our friends and soothing our grief about it with pizza and a higher work load!

Pros

The work itself isn't that bad talking to customers is certainly something you get used to. It can be quiet so there's some down time to just work on emails or speak to colleagues but most of the time it is busy and the days go by quite fast.

Cons

You'll be asked to work overtime a lot and you might feel the need to say accept. If you're a yes man they will take advantage of you so you need to learn to say no. Staff are friendly most of the time but they are poorly managed, there's not really a hierarchy like most jobs, instead everyone who isn't new is your boss and they all disagree with each other on how to run the place. So you'll find that there's inconsistencies in what your job requirements are. You'll also find the issues that are reoccurring that customers complain about are never fixed for months if not years so you'll eventually just become desensitized to it. Basically have to accept even though they're not a large company your impact will be small and things never seem to really change that much. Not a lot of room to move up either so if you need a pay rise better to go some place else.
