Pros

Skylight was a low-key environment when working as part of the administrative staff. Small staff. Flexible schedule, allowed a casual start/end time. Vacation was minimal the first year, but quickly accumulated. Nice touch to get your birthday off as a holiday. Gain a lot of experience on a variety of tasks, given the small staff size.

Cons

Unfortunately, they haven't kept pay competitive. Most people have worked many years without a raise or even a cost of living adjustment. High staff turn over, seems to revolve every few years. Not much room for growth within the company.

Pros

The executive staff is very friendly and visible during the rehearsal process, making you feel valuable and welcome. Great accommodations at The Plaza hotel, near the theater. Artistic Director has great vision for the theater.

Cons

Working as an out-of-towner can be tough during the Winter months because the cold keeps you from walking anywhere. There are great places downtown within walking distance of the hotel, but it's not doable in the Winter. There is a company van that provides transportation to and from the theater, but no company car provided for the artists. That would be a nice perk, especially in the cold.

Pros

Family feel to the complany. Over all great staff, quality shows.

Cons

A local non-equity theatre that continually hires equity actors from NYC(not even the best) instead of using local tallent that is just as good or better.
