Pros

So many things to be grateful for including - freedom to carve out your career the way you want it to be, autonomy to perform, support, culture of caring, no sacred cows, incredible talented caring and amazing people

Cons

Disorganization at the market leadership level (rejection of national organizational frameworks), a serious gap in operational competency and accountability, lacking clarity in basic things (compensation, promotion/role transition, feedback, organization, roles/responsibilities), heavy alcoholic drinking culture, clique'ish behavior at the market leadership level (rewards for those in the circle)

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for us all. Without it we would know vastly less about ourselves and our company. If you want to talk through anything more, walk on over and say hi, or reach out to me via email. Also, if you’d like to add more feedback via our anonymous survey, feel free to do so here: http://slalom.ws/anonsurvey Let’s acknowledge the awesomeness of your review, and thank you for being generous and giving some earnest Pros for people to think about. But let’s also address your Cons. Organization and clarity are relative things. Both relative to one's expectations and relative to each other. One person's sense of disorder might be felt by someone else as excitement or opportunity. Or it might be unintentional or an oversight – that’s entirely possible, too. Either is acceptable, because we are trying to do something a bit different. And that’s where clarity comes in. We need to be clearer about this desire for progress. We are absolutely and intentionally trying new things. With the guidance, core values and collaboration of the national organization, we’re helping to evolve some aspects of Slalom’s organizational framework. We don’t want to be different than Slalom, we want to be different WITH Slalom. Our method is ongoing. It’s experimental. It’s iterative. So as long as we’re clear about where we’re going, I hope we can all find the energy to put forth a hypothesis and run with it. If not, then I hope we can find the comfort and patience in trusting each other to mind the gap. Deciding where to go, and what to leave behind is easy. Deciding how we’re going to get there is hard. Especially if you’re 250 people, walking the path together. Please come along with us. Stefanie

Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
