Pros

the only positive is you would mostly work within 50miles of your local office at your own expense! this means having to drive 49.9miles every day at your own expense

Cons

insane attrition. Attrition is attrition over 50%? Every company get together you meet a new set of people. Not a secure job environment specially for people who depend on a employer work visa(H1) as they have no long term client commitments. All the projects tend to me 2-3 weeks long. terrible perks or the lack of! health insurance is very expensive, no 401k match, only 3 weeks of vacation and no sick leaves. projects are very intense in IT with regular 55+hr weeks....no growth within the company. If you join the company as a consultant expect 4-5yrs before you get a decent salary bump.

This is John Tobin - Thank you for your review on Glassdoor. I take our reviews very seriously and would like to provide you some additional information that might be helpful in clarifying some of our benefits and staffing processes. I don't usually elaborate this much on my responses, but felt it was a good opportunity to clarify some of the specifics based on your review. Additionally, I would highly encourage you to reach out me or to our HR group so that I can help better understand your concerns and rectify or clarify any misunderstandings about our benefits or staffing processes. You can reach me at (206) 374-4221 or HR at HR@slalom.com Attrition: Slalom Consulting’s rolling 12 month attrition is 16.6% for all offices - this includes both wanted and unwanted attrition. Seattle is 12.9% and has one of the lower %’s of attrition in comparison our other larger offices. One of the reasons you may be seeing so many new faces at our events is the large volume of hiring we have done over the last several years. Last year Slalom hired 649 employees, 82 of which were hired in Seattle. 401k: We do have a match and you are able to contribute your own money from the date of hire. You are eligible for a match after 1 year of employment and that match is 100% vested. Most companies either have a waiting period for the match, or a vesting period for the match. We have opted to allow our employees to have full access to their match after 1 year of employment vs. having a vesting period for the match in which you would have access to some of the match over a period of years. We continue to look at adjusting our 401K policy and other benefits. I hope to hear from you - John T.

Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
