Pros

A lot of space to share ideas and opinions with the team. The entire team is very respectful and accommodating.

Cons

8 hour work day is recommended by management but there are days this might extend depending on the work load

Pros

I have worked here for 3 years now and I get a lot of space to grow, experiment and try out ideas. The social sector can sometimes be limiting, in the way that associates/ mid level professionals dont get to experiment/ innovate as much. This is something that is different about SOL. Even as an associate I was encouraged to present my ideas, to run pilot studies and circle back with my findings- when a pilot went well- the org took a chance to even redesign their flagship program, which I think is a bold and brave step that not a lot of founders take Salary is credited on time every month and during financial crisis (health etc) a lot of support and help is extended

Cons

Running robust programs sometimes means taking on additional work or having to do something with a limited budget/ resources. Having said that, comp offs are available and work days/ times are not micro-managed/ closely monitored giving each employee the flexibility to work according to their schedule (as long as deadlines are met).

Pros

1. While you help children around the world find a voice, you also end up finding your own voice by getting the opportunity to share your ideas/ thoughts without any judgment that could do wonders for the growth of the organization 2. While you create safe spaces for children, you end up in a safe space of your own. Slam Out Loud's team does these weekly huddles wherein the entire team, employees, and interns huddle up to talk about their week, their feelings and end up playing some supremely competitive team games The best part about Slam Out Loud is you are human first and everything else later. As someone who joined as an intern, I was made to feel so comfortable and at home that I could really speak my mind and share the inputs I had that could make Slam Out Loud better at what they do.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any, Slam Out Loud came into my life at a time when I needed inspiration and direction
