Pros

Slingshot is a great company to get experience at - they immediately let you dive in and work on any projects you can help with. It's fast paced, the people care and they do well. The people are generally easy to get along with. The higher ups care about the company culture and the people who work for them.

Cons

Uncertainty of business would be a con. But that's just agency life. Some people are a bit cliquey/hard to get to know, but don't let that stop you from engaging in the company culture as much as possible. There's also not the healthiest work/life balance for certain departments/positions. However, it is manageable most the time.

Pros

The only consistently positive aspect of my time at Slingshot was the paid DART train pass, which genuinely made commuting easier. There was also some remote flexibility during the height of the pandemic, but that benefit disappeared once the company shifted to mandatory in‑office days Tuesday through Thursday.

Cons

Turnover was extremely high across teams, creating constant instability and leaving remaining employees stretched thin. When a group of us were laid off, it seemed tied to losing multiple clients and deeper financial issues that had been obvious for a while. Basic support was lacking—my computer barely functioned with the applications I needed, and despite repeated requests, it was never replaced by IT or Finance. The culture also had its problems. Mandatory biweekly Thursday meetings often meant being volunteered to present with little notice, which added unnecessary stress. The lack of diversity across the staff was noticeable and disappointing. Overall, it felt like employees were expected to “make do” with limited resources, outdated equipment, and an environment that was becoming increasingly unstable.
