Pros

There are still a few good people left despite all the redundancies made and the confused business strategy in place. Nice head office (most other offices have been closed down) but far too big for the small team left, we really do rattle about in here. Nice HR team that have clearly been asked to write reviews on here....

Cons

Pension’s not being paid due to company debt, strict T&E policy which is not in line with the real world. Very disappointing bonus scheme compared to other companies out there. You have to chase and push hard for bonus payments as the rules change all the time. Constant IT/Server problems, issues with payroll (not being paid on time) Projects not being delivered and customers being let down, Most skilled PS members have now moved on, skeleton resource staff. Bottle neck in processes with certain individuals. Hire/fire mentality; 4 line managers in last 18 months, 3 different growth strategies. Smartfocus do not understand their position in the market; Hardly any reference-able customers, high churn rate, (improving due to change in way this is reported) product stack needs investment, much better solutions out there. Very little outbound marketing activity due to lack of resource and budget. The business is starved at the moment and everyone is trying to protect their job/position. Allot of internal politics going on; teams not wanting to work for certain power hungry individuals.

Pros

Can do attitude. This is a great company if it did not have the items in CONS. You have the ability to learn and move with the flow. There are tons of opportunities to learn and really make a difference.

Cons

To focused on sales. If you hate selling anything, this is not the place for you. All Management cares about is hitting the goals. Which is not a bad thing, but you have to have a solid product. Most clients are fooled by the Salesman (No brainer here) and Client Services will take the heat. This isnt a problem because you just bring the Sales guy back in the picture. Management is ambitious. But over the top ambitious. They'll shoot themselves in the foot if they have not done so already. - Work/live balance tips on the Work side heavily - Compensation is okay. Build experience and jump to a competitor. - Career Opportunities are available if you can sell. Test yourself, find a product you know is dysfunctional, and see how many people you can sell it to. The first 3 don't count. - CEO is on cloud 9. - Country Vice Presidents: Suck.
