Pros
Its a job where you are paid and the check doesn't bounce for the time being. Management does not guide but threaten you with the loss of your position. There are "Pizza Days" on the last day of the month end to entice you to stay chained to your desk to collect all the possible revenue before posting the numbers.
Cons
Management promotes fairness, but positions for upwards movement is non-existent. Lateral changes through other departments are available, as well as demotions. Pay raises are uncommon, incentives are based on a collective team effort which mostly goes unrewarded. Long 10 hour days are almost mandatory, and leaving on time or an hour after is frowned upon. Policies are distributed by word of mouth mainly, and unproductive meetings are held on an almost daily basis. Management lacks direction. Business tact or fairness towards others are scarce and only seem important when it is the last week of the month where number forecasts are in question.
