After the pandemic, lots of things changed at SoFi. It's not worth getting too much into the details, but suffice it to say that not everyone is a believer in the mission and values at SoFi, particularly some select few at the C-level and in C-level staff. Or, if they are, then they are hypocritical, because they often act at variance with the mission and values.
Quality of life at SoFi depends very much on the people in your immediate circle. In that sense, joining SoFi is very much like any other company ... one bad manager or coworker really can spoil it. This unfortunate circumstance is happening somewhat frequently these days. The most devastating indictment I can level is that more than one person that I knew and really enjoyed working with pre-pandemic have left SoFi not because they didn't like the company or its mission or didn't like the work they were doing, but because dealing with some of the egomaniacs in power there had simply become intolerable.
