Pros
once you are out of training (at least 9 months) the job is fairly independent. Your bosses give you your assignment and you just get it done. depending on the budget, there's typically a lot of opportunities for overtime.
Cons
The BA workload is heavy and the training is intense. Typically it either clicks for you or it doesn't, and if it doesn't most likely you will struggle. There is pressure to move work and if you struggle that can take a toll; job security is rock solid but overall satisfaction is low as evidenced by the dramatic drop of SSA’s ranking in recent annual employee surveys. Similar work at other agencies is paid at higher grade levels; SSA has historically put employees in lower grades than other agencies for similar work,
