Pros
Expect diving into a good range of projects that will let you gain a lot of experience in designing with steel, concrete, wood, and soil among other things. People are friendly and very helpful with questions and finding resources, but also let you be independent and learn on your own to gain the most from each project.
Cons
It can be challenging if you don't have a good grasp of the technical knowledge already or be willing to learn a lot on the spot. Need to have good communication skills or be comfortable dealing with clients directly at times.
