Pros
Excellent work experience. You will learn so much about the mental health field and skills for improving your personal life while here. Free equine therapy and discounts on neurofeedback. Staff are incredible to work with. Supervisors are supportive and have experience on the job. LGBTQ friendly for staff and kids. Usually promote from within.
Cons
Burnout job with high turnover. Periods of insufficient staff when you are pressured to come in on your day off. No breaks while on shift unless working a double. You technically accrue sick days, but are not allowed to use them for anything except Covid, and even then only when approved by medical staff. You are expected to obtain coverage for your shift when sick and provide a doctor's note. Food provided is not healthy or allergy-friendly. Insurance is worthless and expensive. Business appears to cut a lot of corners to save money. Minimal training and rules are always changing. So. Many. Emails. Staff kitchen is the most depressing room I have ever seen. Some of the facilities are unclean and cluttered.
