Pros

Most of the coworkers are nice. Benefits and PTO are okay

Cons

Management is extremely petty and shallow. Recently became a corporate structure owned by big equity so there have been a bunch of procedural changes that ultimately make the job more stressful. Expect extreme surveillance of everything you do and for management to get mad at you for suggesting improvements (because someone will get offended since they didn't think of it). But don't worry, you will never find out exactly who or why they are mad. They have no interest in fairness, I was fired for asking for a raise and title change (not the official reason) after moving into a much more niche set of responsibilities that had no overlap with what I was hired for. The official reason was "discovered" mere days after asking for a raise and was entirely them just taking something I said out of context. There is no career progression unless you consider more complex responsibilities for the same title and pay to be progression. Pay is low for the area and industry. Management is unorganized and makes decisions flippantly, which almost always seem to be worse for ground level employees. A ton of people quit, were fired, and were laid off recently so they are now on a skeleton crew. Expect too much work because of this. Safety standards are questionable and they don't take reports of concerns seriously even though they say they do. Upper management is a completely revolving door. Quoting a coworker, "management changes more often than I change my pants". Last I checked, they were in the midst of changing evaluations, which they set the bar too high for and literally nobody was reaching them except for a lucky few who had work that aligned well with the requirements. Most of the rest of the issues are caused by regulations, so they aren't going to be much different than other labs.

Pros

-Great laboratory Equipment -Good office spaces -Some genuinely intelligent and kind people

Cons

-Too many managers -Too corporate feeling (Buzz words, HR safe language, fake smiles, fake laughter, not actually listening but pretending to, shifting blame to subordinates, micromanagement, nitpicking) -Lack of work "culture" -Lack of quick feedback or Turnaround on tasks (can take weeks to months to solve issues IF they get resolved at all) -"Nickle and Dime" for every request -Minimal room for career advancement (you stay at your station and MAYBE you get a title number change from a 1 to a 2 or 3 chemist
