Pros

You CAN make decent money but its not a fun job.

Cons

They claim its oh so much better than a 9-5 desk job, this is completely inaccurate. They also label it as Marketing and Sales, yet there is no marketing. Let me tell you what you actually do, memorize a crappy script on how to "convert" consumers from Time Warner Cable to DirecTV. Walk around a Wal Mart from 11-6 or 11-8 with a whiteboard and areas to fill in to show customers what they can save. Job sucks, I hated it, many people I knew hated it, and the only people that like it are the ones that dedicate themselves into badgering customers into switching to DirecTV. You get $125 for every unit you sell per week. That's how you make money, otherwise this job sucks and you definitely don't need a college degree, or even a high school degree for that matter, to get this job. My recommendation? Unless you are desperate and have experience with door to door or car sales, save your breath.

Solvy Seven Response

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are very sorry you had a negative experience working with our company as we take pride in making Solvy Seven a well-rounded and positive environment for our employees. While we are a newer company that is always looking for constructive feedback so that we may continue to grow, we would also like to take a moment to clarify a few details: 1. Your title states “Unless You Like Harassing Customers Inside Wal-Marts.” We teach our representatives to speak politely and respectfully to customers and to absolutely never harass or make people uncomfortable. 2. We do not claim that this position is better than a “9-5 desk job”. While we promote the outstanding opportunity to grow into upper level positions that allow for greater earning potential and scheduling flexibility, we do not disrespect the integrity of many alternative careers and industries. 3. Our company is categorized as Sales and Marketing for many reasons. One of the main reasons we associate the term “marketing” with our company is because marketing is a form of sales. It is a method used to communicate with our audience and learn more about our target demographic through research, advertising, and direct contact. 4. As for the hours and location of our retailers, our workday is defined as being strictly 12:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. and additional hours are entirely optional. There are also multiple locations for our retailers. 5. You are correct, one does not need a college degree in order to acquire a position with Solvy Seven, Inc. However, at least a high school degree is required by our client in order to be considered. What we state in our ads is that we would prefer a college degree or applicable industry experience. While many of our team members hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree, we also have successful members of our team who did not hold a degree. 6. Our nature of sales is strictly retail as you discussed at length in the body of your review. As for the end of your review stating that “door to door or car sales” may encourage one to apply for a sales position with Solvy Seven, we would like to emphasize that door-to-door sales or car sales is absolutely valued previous experience that our team would consider for an individual’s candidacy. However, we would also like to emphasize that none of our positions involve door-to-door sales or car sales. 7. To address your “Advice to Management,” we do not currently hold any workplace dating policies that would cover your alleged statement. However, we enforce a very strict harassment and discrimination policy and if you are aware of an incident that would highlight a breach of this policy, (that as a stated “former employee” you would have signed on your first day), we highly encourage you to step forward and contact us directly via hr@solvyseven.com or our main Human Resources line, which is 262-505-5433. To whomever posted this anonymously- we would love the opportunity to speak with you personally and figure out what went wrong in your interview/hiring/training process. We would greatly appreciate the time, if you are willing. Please contact Human Resources at 262-505-5433. Thank you.

Pros

I have been with Solvy for 8 months, I came from working 75 hours a week being a top rep at my company to just be over looked for a "promotion" I started working for Solvy and I was told one thing, "there is a big difference between easy and simple. This job and what we do is simple. Become the best student and absorb everything you can and we will teach you the rest". In 8 months I have been able to develop not only professionally but educationally and even relationally. If I had not stumbled across that job posting that linked me to the video of the company video where I saw the ping pong table and energy bar, I probably would still be stuck in an bottomless pit of my old company. Thank you Solvy and the rest of the team for giving me the chance to make something great of myself and become happy again!

Cons

This business is not for everyone, you have to have great work ethic and a personal mentality to self motivate you to challenge yourself. If you have the work ethic and the mentality to keep going strong you could create a very nice career for yourself, professionally, educationally, financially, relationally.
