Pros

A great company mission that is relatable and easy to find passion for Supportive and friendly coworkers Ideal location by Union Station

Cons

Each and every employee is heavily overworked, which would be more acceptable if the salaries weren't well below market (unless you're a software developer or an executive). The company is barely keeping up with the growth it's experiencing which puts an enormous strain on every department. Employees are regularly pushed to the point of emotional breakdowns so much that it's treated as a normality. Zero upward advancement available for employees. New positions will open within your department that you are qualified for, but recruiters will undoubtedly hire out for them and act like you're crazy for thinking you'd have a shot for the position. Expect no additional compensation after a year of employment. If you ask, the answer will be something vague like, "work harder and we'll revisit the conversation" which really makes employees feel undervalued. Speaking up about this will put your job at risk. In general, growth and profit became more important to the company than employee wellness the longer I worked there. It is shocking how little the company supports employee wellness considering they are a mental health company.

Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback on your experience here at SonderMind. While we are disappointed to hear it wasn't a good one, we are thankful to have this opportunity to hear such honest feedback. Growing rapidly as a startup in the healthcare industry comes with serious challenges for a company — and we're not immune to those challenges. We can share that we've heard you and respect your experience. We'd also like to share that in the past six months, we've made significant strides as a company to establish professional development tracks for each department, have promoted over a dozen team members with an average tenure of eight months, and are providing new means of supporting our employees' personal wellness journeys. We're always looking for ways to improve, and honest feedback from SonderMinders helps us do just that — so thanks again for sharing.

Pros

SonderMind has been one of the best work environments I have experienced in my 23-year career. The company genuinely cares about employee well-being, ensures employees are recognized for their contributions, and fosters a culture of respect among colleagues—something I have never experienced to this degree in any prior workplace.

Cons

I genuinely cannot identify any cons of working at SonderMind.

Pros

I have had an amazing experience working at SonderMind. The company genuinely values its employees and fosters a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. Leadership consistently demonstrates that employee voices matter by actively listening to feedback and quickly implementing meaningful changes. It creates an environment where team members feel respected, supported, and empowered to do their best work. One of the most impactful aspects of working at SonderMind is the intentional investment in leadership and team connection. Bringing leaders together annually strengthens collaboration, builds camaraderie, and reinforces a unified mission. Throughout my professional career, this has been my best overall work experience, and it is clear that SonderMind prioritizes both employee well-being and organizational growth.

Cons

While my overall experience at SonderMind has been very positive, the company is growing and evolving quickly, which can sometimes mean processes and workflows change frequently. This requires employees to remain flexible and adaptable as new systems and structures are implemented. Additionally, because the organization is highly mission-driven and fast-paced, workloads can occasionally feel demanding during periods of growth or transition. However, leadership is typically receptive to feedback and works to address challenges as they arise.
