Pros

It's easy to get into the company because they don't even have an experienced upper management team. The interview process is also easy because the interviewer might need to learn about your position or what it will entail. But if you meet some friendly staff, you will be working closely.

Cons

1. Upper-level management loves to get involved in workplace politics. You might get marginalized and smeared if you want to avoid standing by one team. 2. The company is constantly undergoing "reorganization" for no reason. 3. They love to initially give you a lowball offer and promise you will get many opportunities and benefits later on. Then, they refuse and delay giving you a raise or promotion, regardless if you get high scores on your annual performance reviews. Also, the upper management team in the U.S. will randomly set "executive orders," so there will be no raises within certain periods. 4. They love to give you the oral contract but refuse to update the terms of the agreement. And yeah, of course, they will go back on their word. Such as: 1) Promised it is a fully remote job but keeps pushing you to work in the office for more than three or five days per week and refuses to pay any transport allowance. 2) It might be a wrong signal if they offer you the exempt salary/annual salary. In that case, they will make you work overtime hours every day without additional compensation since you're salaried. 3) Your bonus has recently shrunk by over 80 percent against what they promised. They often tout the "guaranteed" bonus is inconsistent and constantly threatened to be taken away. And they refuse to disclose the components of the bonus. - 5. The benefits are below average. 1)We only get six federal holidays, but there are 11 federal holidays celebrated each year in the United States. 2)Our PTO cannot redeem in the first year, which means it is not easy to have any vacation for the first year. 3)They only cover half of your medical insurance payment, and all insurance plans are super lame 4)401k they often tout but 0% match. 5. Not easy to apply for reimbursement: They will encourage you to prepay from your pocket to support this company to finish the event. But when you ask for reimbursement, they will find a lot of excuses to delay paying you back. Eventually, you finally take your own money back. Still, the upper manager will tell you if the company gets a tax audit, later on, you should spontaneously help this company to figure it out. 6. Toxic working environment and hopelessness: 1)You cannot be compassionate or empathetic to the staff. For example, you will get hate for encouraging the upper management team to give subordinates a proper raise when they truly deserve it. The final result is you'll probably get treated like a black sheep. 2) Although the U.S. team is small, upper managers are privileged here. It's normal to get harassed and bullied here. After you try to report it to H.R., the result is usually inconclusive, without any action. If you keep saying this issue, the worst-case scenario is that you might get laid off since it is "at-will employment." 3)They have a very high staff turnover rate. The people you work and coordinate with the day before often quit or get laid off the next day.

Pros

-Great coworkers. -Caring local HR team.

Cons

-Unclear expectations. Role became confusing and stressful as they would want high-quality content, yet become frustrated if you did not rush your work. Would ask that you create copy that has proper grammar, structure, and would fit well in US culture, then demand confusing changes that cause sentences to become confusing, contain grammatical errors, or simply not make sense to a native English speaker—in order to try and combat these changes, you quite literally needed to engage in arguments to reflect your worries. -Felt as if online role posting did not properly reflect actual work. -Demanded the use of AI to create copy.
