Pros
Beautiful location & wildlife. Spacious staff accommodation - you have your own room and share a bathroom with 1-2 other people. Guests are actually wonderful. Plenty of opportunity for overtime. We worked an average of 18 days on, 3 days off. You don't have any outgoings, food & accom is all included for staff, so you will save. Average employee saves $15k in 6 months season. (Can earn a lot more elsewhere though).
Cons
$18.50 per hour. Tips shared evenly between FOH & BOH, Inc management. Peak tip pool less than $100 a day during busy month (July/Aug). Rest of the season is significantly less. Opportunities for cash tips. Events are poorly run. No passion in management (most have been there 5-10 years and it shows). Staff food was atrocious. Many members of staff got food poisoning. This is not "family run". You're working for London Drugs, a corporate business.
