Pros
- Sovrn has a strong work/life balance, and somewhat competitive perks (unlimited PTO).
- The people are great and the atmosphere is relaxed.
- The work is challenging.
- A good place to get your career started in tech.
Cons
- In an increasingly commodified + competitive market, with pressure coming in on all sides, Sovrn has struggled to bring a substantial differentiator to market. The work that is being championed is bringing it up to mid 2010's level technology.
- Sovrn has continually decided to invest in cost-savings + infrastructure overhauls, which are needed, but this ultimately prohibits new products, forward-thinking and a growth-first mindset.
- Decision makers are siloed and have narrow POVs.
- Executive level is an insiders club and rarely held accountable.
- Individual Contributors are consistently asked to go above and beyond without clear understanding of what it will do for them + the company.
- Every product competes with each other, rather than contributing to each other. Resourcing is usually too lean (before large layoffs).
- Less that competitive pay for the industry.
