Pros

Mission driven, the positive impact on the world via Starlink is clearly evident, and low cost launch has revolutionized the aerospace industry. It’s been extremely satisfying to have played a significant role in our progress to date and there’s so much more yet to do. It might seem cliché, though with our high standards for hiring, truly one of the best aspects of working here are the coworkers you get to work with. Nearly everyone I’ve worked with over many years has been driven, passionate, smart, trustworthy, and generally fun people to be around. You can do great work and always be learning.

Cons

You do end up working a lot, but often this is partly due to genuine interest/passion rather than being strictly required. So it’s important to make sure you enforce your boundaries and unplug when you can. We do tend to attract people that like working a lot, but you’ll need to find your own balance and strategies. It’s not a 40 hr/week type job (for salary), but it doesn’t need to be 80+ hours either.

Pros

* **Unmatched Mission & Impact:** You are literally working on rockets and spacecraft. The cool factor is 10/10. * **Brilliant Coworkers:** You will be surrounded by some of the smartest, most driven engineers in the world. * **Insane Career Growth:** SpaceX on your resume is a golden ticket. You will learn more here in 3 months than in 3 years at a normal company. * **Hands-on Experience:** They actually trust interns with real, critical hardware. No boring coffee-fetching tasks.

Cons

**Cons:** * **Zero Work-Life Balance:** 70-80 hours a week is the norm, not the exception. Say goodbye to your social life and sleep. * **Extreme Burnout:** The "hustle culture" is toxic. You are expected to treat the company as your entire life. * **Mediocre Pay:** The hourly pay is average, especially when you factor in the insane hours and the high cost of living in LA/Hawthorne. * **Chaotic Management:** Decisions can change overnight based on whatever Elon Musk tweets or feels like doing that morning.
