The first thing that struck me right away was how homogeneous this company is. Highly skewed male at all levels, almost all white, bike racer culture. If you know anything about bike racing, you know how obsessive, narcissistic, self-absorbed, and cutthroat racers are. Transfer that to a company culture and you have an organization steeped in backstabbing, emphasis on personal and political gain, and desire to trip colleagues rather than help them succeed. Never seen anything like it. Misogyny? Yup. Unwillingness to share credit? Yup. Sink or swim attitude regarding new employees? Yup. Dominate the industry and put the competition out of business? Yup. (although this last isn't so terrible - many companies share this objective) But heck, if you ride your bike fast and beat people on the daily lunch ride, you will get noticed and any missteps MAY be overlooked. May. Join at your peril, and don't move to Morgan Hill right away. Many, many employees get fired after 3 months.
