Pros
This was a contract position at C-STARS, (Center for the Sustainment of Trauma and Resuscitation Skills), at the Air Force's simulation lab at Univ. of Maryland hospital. This is a fantastic job if you are former military medic, EMT-P, IDMP, etc.
Cons
There is a lot of "downtime" in this position . The simulation lab is in the basement of the hospital, with no windows. There is simulation on approx. 11 days of a 20 day work month, including no simulation at all the last week of the month and none during the month of February. During these downtimes, there is not a lot to do, and virtually no interaction with others. This gets old after a few months.
This is a civilian contract job, however, the military expects you to act and behave as if you are military. That's why this job would be a good fit for former military.
