Pros
It used to be a good place.
Cons
I've been doing a lot of thinking about why I've been so unhappy at my job for so long. When I started my position, years ago, I was more involved in the process of what I do. I worked with Sales quite a bit to determine the best options, and I held the projects from start to finish, so if something went wrong, I knew the entire background. I also had a lot of flexibility in how to get things accomplished. It was challenging, but it was also fulfilling. My higher ups had done their time in this position, so knew everything we were facing. Then came the merger with TWC, and we got silo'd. Boy, did we get silo'd. Now if something goes wrong, we have no idea what Sales promised the customer. But it's still on us to fix the issue. So that's stressful, to say the least. Then a number of shake-ups in the chain of command. Now we have higher ups who have no clue what we do, and have admitted it, but micromanage us anyway. They keep coming up with ways that they think will make our jobs easier, but honestly, they're just getting in our way. And we now have a manager who just does whatever they're told to do by these same know-nothings. So those of us who do the work are suffering for it.
